WHY YOU SHOULD LEARN MUAY THAI

Improve Your Fitness

There are few things more difficult then defending yourself from an attacker. Muay Thai is an ancient martial art that teaches you to stay calm under pressure and to use all of your limbs to strike and defend yourself. A muay thai practitioner can burn hundreds of calories while training. So not only can muay thai help you to lose weight, it can also help you develop strength, power, speed, flexibility, and overall athleticism.

Be A Better You

With regular training, muay thai will give you the confidence to be a better version of yourself. You will undeniably have the know-how to defend yourself in an altercation. This ability will give you the confidence to walk away from petty arguments and not get involved in bad situations. Muay Thai gives you the ability to “fight” an attacker, without fighting.

Improve Your Mental Health

Practicing muay thai involves overcoming obstacles and stresses. These obstacles may include learning unfamiliar techniques, sparring better opponents, or rounds of intense physical activity. But along the way, you will also see improvement and with that improvement, a feeling of satisfaction will come about. This progression will do wonders for your mental health.

Camaraderie

Diamondback Jiu-Jitsu has a wonderful community of instructors and students. Our students help each other learn and grow as much as the instructors. You will find people who are more than happy to help you in your muay thai journey. When you practice muay thai, you are part of a group of like-minded individuals.  You will discover that muay thai is as much of a team sport as it is an individual discipline.

“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.”
